Water Conservation Group is the Technology Project Partner for the Water Saver Package. The Water Saver Package is a step-by-step program designed for aged care facilities to identify and implement simple water saving technologies such as leak detection, dual-flush toilets, rainwater tanks and efficient taps and showerheads.
Initial Screening:
We will assess your registration responses to determine the likelihood of achieving substantial water savings from your facility and identify whether it is one of the facilities eligible for Greening Grey Facilities.
Facility Water Saving Process:
Step 1: Initial Assessment:
One of our water savings engineers will visit your facility to install a temporary logger to check for leakage, carry out a survey on your current water usage and equipment and assess opportunities for rainwater harvesting and reuse.
Step 2: Smart Metering:
A long term Smart Water Meter will be installed to monitor water usage and confirm the level of savings achieved after implementation. The meter may be retained for long term monitoring of usage and leakage.
Step 3: Detailed Assessment:
We will analyse water consumption and site inspection information and prepare a Water Savings Plan describing options for water savings and NSW Government grant funding available for undertaking various measures.
Step 4: Implementation:
WCG may be engaged to undertake or manage the implementation of the water savings measures.
Step 5: Verification:
WCG confirms completion of work and assesses water consumption after implementation to verify and document water savings to claim funding subsidies from the NSW Government's Climate Change Fund.
Program Analysis and Reporting:
The results of the audits and repair works for all facilities will be compiled and analysed to provide information to the ACAA membership and NSW Government on the opportunities for water efficiency within the sector.
